Code of Conduct

Last updated: November 19, 2025

Preamble

We are a community for everyone who enjoys games and embracing their inner nerd together. But above all, we are a space built on mutual respect. These guidelines help us create a fair and welcoming community for everyone. We continuously adapt this code based on feedback from within the community.

No Tolerance for Intolerance

Many people experience exclusion and discrimination. That is why we intentionally create spaces where everyone can feel welcome. We stand in solidarity with FLINTA, LGBTQIA+ people, BIPoC, people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, and people of all religions, educational backgrounds, and origins — in short, everyone who faces discrimination within majority-based societies.

Everyone in this community is expected to listen to marginalized voices, make space for others, reflect on themselves, and use their own privileges consciously to help make the community better for everyone.

Our Principles

  • We look out for one another and work together to ensure nobody feels unwelcome here.
  • We listen and treat each other with respect — even when we disagree.
  • We make mistakes — and learn from them. Nobody is perfect, but we strive to improve.
  • We respect personal boundaries. “Stop” means stop. This also applies during roleplaying and at the gaming table.
  • We voluntarily share pronouns and make an effort to address people the way they wish to be addressed.
  • We give attention and space, especially to voices that are often ignored or overlooked.

The Following Behavior Will Not Be Tolerated

  • Sexism, racism, queerphobia, transphobia, or any form of discrimination, harassment, or abusive behavior
  • Hate speech, incitement, or support for groups or individuals who promote intolerance

People who openly support discriminatory ideologies outside the community, or who actively or passively support exclusionary individuals or groups, may also be proactively excluded from the community.

Handling Conflicts

Board games can be emotional. However, emotions are never an excuse for disrespectful behavior.

If you feel uncomfortable or experience or witness behavior that crosses boundaries, you can always confidentially contact the moderation team. We will listen, take every report seriously, and decide together on appropriate actions.

Depending on the situation, these may include:

  • Conversation and mediation
  • Warning or temporary, permanent, or preventive exclusion
  • Consulting external support or advice, for example through the reporting office at flintastisch.de/meldestelle

Our Invitation

This is a place we build together. We want to play, laugh, discuss, and grow together — not at the expense of others, but in solidarity with one another.

We take action, we speak up, and we protect each other. If you are here, then you are part of this mission and share responsibility for it.

Every day, we work toward making diversity within society and the board game community something truly natural and self-evident.
